Stay fit and healthy, that seems to be the mantra among the youngsters nowadays. Early morning walks, jogging, experiments with various state-of-the-art fitness equipments in the gym, hip hop dancing and there are a lot more methods that the youngsters all over the world try in order to shed their excess weight.When it comes to Kerala too, there is no dearth of fitness clubs or gyms or there is no lack of enthusiasm among youngsters in exercising away that extra flab. But the methods vary greatly and being the land of Ayurveda, Kerala offers more natural and traditional ways to stay in shape.

The two important measures resorted to by youngsters in ayurveda kerala are Ayurveda therapies and yoga. While therapies like panchakarma and swedana kriya are effective treatments for obesity, the yoga practices help them maintain strength and flexibility of the body. Yoga and Ayurveda also help one distribute the energy equally on all parts of one’s body. These traditional methods have an added advantage – that they provide a rejuvenating and tranquil experience to the mind too. The therapies and exercises also help remove all the toxins from the body. By including various breathing exercises in the `yoga fitness regimen’, the youngsters can also say goodbye to their breathing problems too, if they have any.
