There is nothing better than an exciting night out where the attendees are flooded with excessive entertainment. Such was the show ''Veet-What beauty feels like'' which was recently held at PC, Karachi showcased a celebration of beauty and femininity through a number of ambassadors of Pakistani fashion. The show was presented by Catwalk Productions and it featured a dance performance choreographed by Omar Rahim as well as the collections of Top Pakistani designers such as HSY, Nomi Ansari, Khaadi Khas and Maheen Khan. The brand is known for its association with fashion models, actresses and glamour. So it's obvious that any event with the involvement of this brand will surely be extravagant

The event exhibited the world premiere of the opening performance entitled 'Titli', which explored beauty through the metaphor of the life cycle of a butterfly. The dance depicted the struggle to grow, the desire to play and the dream to fly. The music was composed by Shallum Xavier and the costumes were designed by Zaheer Abbas.

The dance performance was followed by Nomi Ansari showcasing his Spring/Summer 2009 collection based on the circle of life. While HSY set the mood through his airy Resort collection. The emphasis of his line was on an elegant, fluid silhouette in soft fabrics like chiffon and georgette.

There's a new girl in town dressing up all the beauties in sheer delight. Nida Azwer captivated the audience while her models sizzled down the ramp recently, at the launch of her first collection, at Marriot, Karachi. Whether it's pret a porter, haute couture or an ensemble for a bright bride, the girl didn't leave much out of the line. Her designs fast became the talk of the town after the show which was attended by fashionistas and media.

The designs were all about the cuts, the embroidery and a play of creativity. Many of the pieces were adorned with silk-painted patterns and exquisite bead-work as well. Speaking about the event, Nida said, ''I am grateful for having had the opportunity to stage my own show - I enjoyed it thoroughly and I am overwhelmed by the number of people who came, saw and appreciated my work!''

The pret a porter wear, consisted of many an interesting piece - the collection could be called a work of art. The dresses, combined with layers, were given a touch of screen printing, pearls, beads to create pieces that ranged from playful and adventurous to bold and mysterious. The haute couture line was extra 'hot' which fused together the contemporary new age style with the old age classic glam. The best part of the entire show was the bridal line that consisted of dresses made with zardozi and Swarovski crystals. The work kept in perfect harmony the ideals of age old traditions and the chic-ness of the new age madness.

And maintaining one's health has a lot to do with maintaining one's weight. According to Nadia, one needs to constantly monitor themselves in terms of their measurements and their weight. ''The thing new mothers need to remember is that they shouldn't completely stop eating, they just need to watch what they eat - it should be good nutritious food,'' informs Nadia.
